Revealed: The location for The Great British Bake Off

It’s finally here – The Great British Bake Off showdown is upon us – with an all-boy trio ready to bake for that coveted trophy and title.

If you’ve ever wondered where this popular show is filmed, it’s actually been shot at a number of locations.

The current series was shot entirely at Harptree Court, a stunning country house close to Bristol, over a ten-week period between June and August 2012.

Built in 1797, Harptree Court is set in the Chew Valley and has been a luxury family-run bed and breakfast since 2003.

Guests can enjoy walks in superb surroundings and the lucky ones even got to meet Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood when the Bake Off marquee was in full swing during the summer.

Great reviews for Catching Bullets: Memoirs of a Bond Fan

We’re delighted with the first reviews for Mark O’Connell’s book Catching Bullets: Memoirs of a Bond Fan. Here are some examples:

“Buy this. It’s more rewarding (and, for that matter, cheaper) than another box set and it will remind you why. Why you watch them. Why you come here. Why you’re a Bond fan. Why you’ll stare at the wall for a good half hour after finishing it wondering if this young man has been watching you as avidly as we watched that man, that James Bond, that fifty years of utter captivation. It reminds you that you do like this, you do, really. And you should. Because it’s all bloody brilliant.”CommanderBond.net

In this golden anniversary year of Bond on the big screen, Catching Bullets is an engrossing, irreverent take on one man’s journey with 007. The decision to make this a personal memoir, rather than a chronological guide, is a bold and charming move that suits the relaxed tone and makes for an enjoyable read.”– Cultbox.co.uk

A wholly original take on a subject that has been written about so many times with most authors covering the same topics over and over again. O’Connell’s book offers a totally fresh take and is a really enjoyable read, not just for Bond fans but for anyone looking for a nostalgic romp through the pop culture of the last fifty years.” – whatculture.com

Well-written, thoughtful and intelligent, Mark’s book, with a foreword by long-time fan Mark Gatiss and an afterword by Maud Adams herself, is likely to jog memories as well as provoke passionate debate. Perfect bedside reading and just the right book to remind us all why we fell in love with Bond, James Bond, in the first place.” – Starburst magazine

…and last – but certainly not least – “Catching Bullets is a wonderfully funny and touching memoir.” – Barbara Broccoli, Co-Producer of the James Bond films
